RouteGuard is a ship routing service which can be managed remotely. MeteoGroup's team of Master Mariners and Nautical Meteorologists provide information directly to ship operators and shipmasters around the world. RouteGuard offers benefits to a wide range of professionals including ship owners, charterers, operators, P&I Clubs and traders around the globe and around the clock.  Benefits include; fuel savings, reduced CO2 emissions, reduced transit times, optimised planning based on accurate ETA's and the ability to monitor the ships' performance.

The weather information used for RouteGuard is derived from our Nautical MeteoBase (NMB) and contains variables such as surface pressure charts, satellite data, wind and waves, sea conditions, current, visibility, ice and water temperature. Processing this information, RouteGuard then selects the most favourable route for transit. After each trip MeteoGroup Maritime provides a detailed performance analysis of the voyage to see if the ship has been performing in accordance with charter party standards.

Our RouteGuard service consists of the initial route, daily route updates, performance analysis and fleet management (all provided via secure web access).
